Instructions

FaceReader

Welcome to the FaceReader installation instructions. This section provides information about the FaceReader software and the Stimulus Presentation Tool. All additional manuals and instructions can be found in the Documentation tab.

Current version

FaceReader 10.0

System requirements

Please note that FaceReader 10.0 runs under the 64 bit versions of Windows 10 and Windows 11.

To install FaceReader

  1. Download the file FaceReader 10.0 Setup which you can find in the Versions tab to install FaceReader 10.0.
  2. Select ‘Activate Software License Key’ and click OK.
  3. Choose whether the trial should be floating or fixed:
    • Floating – if you are able to have an internet connection to your computers, a floating license gives you the added benefit of flexibly changing which of the computers you want to use. The software can be installed on any computer and can be used wherever and whenever you want.
    • Fixed/Computer-locked – the software can be used on a single designated computer. To activate the fixed license, an internet connection is needed. After that, the software can be used without an internet connection.
  4. Enter the activation key and click OK to start the trial.
  5. Choose the interface language (English or Simplified Chinese) and follow the instructions on your screen.
  6. If you use the Microsoft LifeCam Studio, download the drivers from the Drivers & Tools tab.

NOTE: FaceReader Help is automatically installed when you install FaceReader. Download the zip file from the Documentation tab, for example, when you want to use Help as stand-alone on another computer. Unzip the downloaded file (right-click the file and choose Extract to here, or similar). To open the Help, double-click the file index.html.

For documentation about the FaceReader API, please contact Noldus Support.

If you are using FaceReader 8 and have Windows 7 (or 8)
