Moving the CatWalk XT System

Your CatWalk XT system can be moved if necessary. Begin by disconnecting the two main cables between the walkway and computer:

  • Network cable: Connects the PC to the camera. On the PC, it plugs into the network card (usually labeled), not into a standard Ethernet port near the USB ports. On the walkway, it connects directly to the camera (not the Control Unit).
  • USB cable: Connects the PC to the Control Unit.

If you are moving the system a short distance (e.g., down the hall), unlock the casters and carefully roll the system. For longer transport, such as relocation to another facility, follow the guidance below.

Preparing the Walkway

OEM packaging is not required for most relocations. It is generally best to keep the CatWalk walkway assembled, while carefully protecting sensitive components such as the glass plate and illuminated ceiling. Always lock the wheel casters before moving to prevent accidental motion.

For added safety, remove the camera and Control Unit before moving, and unplug all cable connections.

Documentation

Refer to the official documentation available on MyNoldus, including the Walkway Assembly Instructions, for details on mounting and handling the camera and control unit during disassembly and reassembly.

NoldusCare Warranty Considerations

Be aware that the NoldusCare Terms and Conditions state that hardware warranties may be voided if damage occurs during packaging or transport. Any resulting damage may require purchasing replacement components at your own cost.
