Connecting an Axis Camera in FaceReader 7, 8, or 9

  1. In the Select Camera window, choose IP Camera from the Select Camera drop-down menu.
  2. Under Source URL, enter the IP address of your camera. For Noldus-configured cameras, this is typically:
    • 192.168.200.1 for the first camera
    • 192.168.200.2 for the second camera, and so on
The IP address may also be labeled directly on the camera.
  3. For Axis IP cameras, enter one of the following (replacing the IP address with the correct one from step 2):
    • http://<IP address>/mjpg/video.mjpg
    • http://<IP address>/axis-cgi/mjpg/video.cgi
  4. Under Frame rate, set your preferred rate (default is 5 fps).
  5. If your camera requires authentication, check the Secured option and enter the Username and Password.
  6. Select MJPEG as the Stream Type.
  7. Optionally, check Use as Default Camera if you want FaceReader to remember this camera for future use.

If everything is set correctly, the camera view should appear in the Preview image window.
