Description of problem

No camera view in Viso Viewer, so you cannot start a recording. This is probably because a camera is not selected in the Location or because there is an error in the camera configuration.

When it occurs

After opening a Location for recording.

Required to solve

You must log in into Viso Viewer as a Technician to be able to edit a Location.

Solution

  1. Log in into Viso Viewer as a Technician.
  2. Open the Locations from the dashboard.
  3. Click the Edit Locations button.
  4. Unfold the Viso Recorder computer item and click on the pencil/Edit button in the row of the Location you want to change.Locations in Viso.png
  5. To change camera settings, click on the pencil/Edit button in the row of the camera.edit location viso.png
  6. Check that the IP address of the selected camera is correct. If not, change it manually or select it from the list if more than one camera is connected.
  7. Select ONVIF as Device Type (this is the default).
  8. Enter the ONVIF User name and ONVIF Password for your camera in case they were not filled automatically.Video device viso.png 
  9. Click Get device properties. If the camera is connected then the Quality field appears with the default frame rate and resolution of the camera.
  10. If the Location has more than one camera, please also check the connection to other cameras.
  11. After the connection with the camera is restored, de-select and, five seconds later, select the Select for recording box for the Location with the cameras. The camera view should now be restored.select for recording viso.png
  12. You can now open the Location again to for a Session recording.
