Basler GigE Camera Configuration Guide

Basler GigE cameras connect to a computer using a network cable and require proper IP configuration. If a connected camera is not detected, verify the following settings.

For additional troubleshooting, see: Basler camera is not detected by EthoVision.

1. Camera Settings

Open Pylon IP Configurator (Start Menu > Pylon IP Configurator). If a camera appears as not reachable, its IP address likely conflicts with the network port settings.

Use the following static IP configurations for your cameras:

  • Camera 1: 192.168.200.1 / Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
  • Camera 2: 192.168.201.1 / Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
  • Camera 3: 192.168.202.1 / Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
  • Camera 4: 192.168.203.1 / Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0

If needed, click the camera in the list, adjust the IP and subnet values, and click Save.

2. Network Adapter Settings

If the camera is still unreachable, assign a matching static IP to the network adapter it's connected to:

  1. Open Control Panel > Network and Internet > View network status and tasks.
  2. Click Change adapter settings (left sidebar).
  3. Right-click the relevant adapter (e.g., “Local Area Connection” or “Noldus Camera Network”) and select Properties.
  4. Select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and click Properties.
  5. Choose Use the following IP address and enter the corresponding value:
  • Port for Camera 1: 192.168.200.101 / Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
  • Port for Camera 2: 192.168.201.101 / Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
  • Port for Camera 3: 192.168.202.101 / Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
  • Port for Camera 4: 192.168.203.101 / Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0

Note: Ensure that the third number group (e.g., 200, 201) matches between the camera and adapter. The camera uses .1 while the adapter uses .101. The Subnet Mask should be 255.255.255.0.

Click OK and Close to apply the settings. Restart your computer if necessary.
